As many of you know, I completed my Masters of Science in Integrative Health & Wellness Coaching at Creighton University earlier this month and will sit for my National Board Exam (NBHWC) in July, successfully completing all requirements to be a Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, the highest achievement and oversight available for the profession. But what is a Health Coach and why do you need one?
A health coach is a professional who guides and supports individuals in achieving their health and wellness goals. They work with clients to develop personalized plans and strategies to improve their overall well-being. A health coach takes a holistic approach, considering various aspects of an individual’s life, including physical health, nutrition, exercise, stress management, and emotional well-being.
The primary role of a health coach is to educate and empower their clients. They provide knowledge and information about healthy lifestyle choices, helping clients understand the importance of balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, and adequate rest. A health coach collaborates with clients to set realistic goals and develop actionable plans to achieve them.
Health coaches also offer ongoing support and accountability. They serve as a motivator and cheerleader, helping clients stay focused and committed to their goals. Through regular meetings, whether in person or remotely, a health coach provides guidance, tracks progress, and adjusts strategies as needed. They listen actively, ask pertinent questions, and provide guidance based on their expertise and experience.
Moreover, a health coach helps clients overcome obstacles and develop healthy habits. They address challenges, such as emotional eating, time management, and self-sabotaging behaviors, and provide strategies to overcome them. By providing personalized guidance and support, health coaches empower individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes and improve their overall health and well-being.
In summary, a health coach serves as a knowledgeable and supportive partner, guiding individuals towards healthier choices and helping them achieve their wellness goals through education, motivation, and ongoing support.
So, as I continue to support my clients, I am thrilled to add this new service to my repertoire. Beginning immediately, I will be offering Health Coaching services at a drastically discounted fee until November when my Board Certification is complete.
